Theresa Rossi (nee DiNardi). Beloved wife of the late Nick Rossi, Sr. (Deceased C.P.D.) Devoted mother of Nick Rossi Jr. (Retired C.P.D.) and John (Lilia Paredes) Rossi, Sr. Dear sister of James (Pat) DiNardi, Rosalie (late Joseph) Esposito, the late John (Constance) DiNardi, Angeline (Frank) Ritacco, Ignazio DiNardi and Carmella (Nick) Notardonato. Adored grandmother of Teresa and John Rossi, Jr. Fond aunt and great aunt of many.
Theresa spent the first half of her life in the 'Little Italy' neighborhood off Taylor St. In 1950, she met the love of her life when she agreed to go on a blind date with Nick Rossi, who she married six months later. Soon Nick Jr was born, who attended Notre Dame Academy where Theresa supported her church and was an active member of the mothers' club, participating in every bake sale, St. Joseph's table, Halloween party, and turkey raffle that came along. Cooking was her superpower and who can forget her delicious manicotti! After the birth of her son John, the family moved to the Northwest side Galewood neighborhood. In her new backyard, Theresa found another passion: gardening. Besides her culinary gifts, she soon discovered she was also blessed with a green thumb. Before long she could identify most any plant, flower, or shrub. While her sons attended Sayre school, Theresa was an active participant in its PTA. Upon her husband's retirement in the late `80's, they moved to Fontana WI where Theresa continued to spread joy, welcoming and entertaining friends. She was a true `people person' whose front door was always open and who always had a fresh pot of coffee on the stove. After her husband's death, Theresa moved to Sun City in Huntley IL to begin her final chapter. Her sparkling personality helped her make new friends quickly and effortlessly. Her dedication to her family as well as her love of life and laughter will be missed and never forgotten.
