Thuong Van Nguyen

Thuong Nguyen, 83, of Hoffman Estates, passed away peacefully on 09/13/2026, surrounded by his beloved family.

Thuong was born on 12/25/1942 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Having earned a college degree in a hospitality field, he went on to achieve a position in hotel management. Thuong arrived in the United States of America in the early 1980s to pursue the American Dream for himself and his family.

He later joined the Jostens Jewelry company as a precious stone-setter. His dedication to the company was sustained for over 25 years, until his retirement in 2006 to devote more quality-time to his family. He traveled with his wife to a variety of countries in Europe and enjoyed multiple trips to Viet Nam.

Thuong will be remembered for his hard work and his care and concern for others. He loved playing table tennis and received numerous trophies as a result.

Thuong is survived by Lieu (wife), Donald (son) and Lan (daughter-in-law), Jennifer (daughter) and Dennis (son-in-law), and Tam (son) and Kim (daughter-in-law).

He was also a proud grandfather to Brittany, Breanna, Benjamin and Vivian.

A memorial service will be held on 09/19/2026 at 3:00pm at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapel, 450 W. Lake St., Roselle, Illinois followed by visitation from 6:00 to 9:00pm.

His family wishes to thank all of the friends and relatives for their love and support during this time.
