Valerie J. Vitucci

Valerie Vitucci, nee Losurdo. Devoted wife of the late Dr. Dominic; loving mother of Rosemarie (Dean) Lev, Dr. Frank (Lisa), and the late Michaeline Vitucci; dearest daughter of the late Michael and Rose Losurdo and daughter-in-law of the late Frank and Rose Vitucci; adoring grandma to Erica, Bianca (John Mathias), and Alana Lev, Dominic (Haley Henriksen), Anthony (Stephanie Stec), and Michael Vitucci; doting great grandma to Rosina and Domenico Mathias; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews; beloved friend and neighbor.

Val dedicated her career to education, serving District 15 for many years. A parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Palatine for over 50 years, she found comfort and community in her faith and gave her time by making baptismal bibs.

An experienced baker, she was cherished as the “cookie lady,” known for her beautiful cakes and hand-delivered Italian treats to family, friends, and neighbors. For those lucky enough to taste it, her eggplant parmesan was second to none. She was a voracious reader, happiest in the summer under her awning with a good book, a skilled seamstress and crocheter whose afghans were a true gift to many, and an avid theater-goer. Val began each day with the crossword puzzle and daily Wordle and spent her afternoons watching Jeopardy!.
