Zanita A Velasquez, 69, passed away on February 10, 2016 at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born on October 23,1946 in Manila, Philippines to Policarpio and Barcelisa Aquino.

Zanette was a bright child and graduated early from Santa Catalina College, where she attended high school. After high school, she attended the University of Santo Tomas where she graduated summa cum laude, receiving a Bachelor’s of Arts in chemistry. After moving the United States, she worked as a quality assurance manager for several food manufacturers.

Survived by her devoted husband, Edgardo Velasquez, five adoring children; Edeliza (Jason) Oliver, Daphne Velasquez, Edward (Malinda) Velasquez, Abigail (Jan Giovanni) Garcia, and Divina Velasquez, her loving sister, Yoly (Gerry) Cruz and 10 grandchildren.
