Dolly E. LaBelle nee’ DeBruzzi passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 14, 2023, at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence. Dolly was born on June 30, 1924, in Ashland, WI. Dolly, the most loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother is survived by her three daughters, Linda, Leslie, and Laura; granddaughter Amanda; and two energetic great grandsons, Spencer, and Sawyer, whom Dolly idolized. She is also survived by her brother, Dalward James “Babe” DeBruzzi and sister, Phyllis “Honey” Swanson, along with several DeBruzzi nieces and nephews. Also loving Aunt to Bobby and Mary Smith.
Dolly resided in the Chicago area and found the love of her life, Leonard, at Chicago Molded Co. and married in 1948. Together, they raised three girls, and they loved to dance, play bridge, and socialize with friends. The two of them moved frequently due to Leonard’s job and finally retired to Port St. Lucie, Florida. Dolly was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband Leonard, along with her older brother, Fred and her parents, Laura, and John DeBruzzi. Dolly returned to Roselle, IL after her beloved Leonard passed and enjoyed volunteering at the Bloomingdale Township Senior Center, was an avid bingo player and loved the game of Farkle. Dolly had a personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter where she was. Her impact will be forever felt by her family, who loved her dearly. Her ability to sacrifice, provide support, forgive and love will be forever instilled in everyone she knew.
A memorial visitation will take place at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapel 450 W. Lake St., Roselle from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Chapel Service to begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, www.mercyhome.org or Senior Council of Bloomingdale Township, 6N050 Rosedale Ave, Bloomingdale, IL 60108.
