Diakakis, 61, Born in Iraklio, Crete, Greece; Beloved husband of Mary nee Verzevoulia; Devoted father of Haralambos (Diana) and Demetri (Georgia); Cherished grandfather of Alexia, George, Theodore and Ismini; Loving brother of Manolis and Angelo; Dearest brother-in law of Pat (Angelo) Asimos; Fond uncle of many neices and nephews; George served in the Greek Army as an Evzone for the Presidential Guard in Greece. Visitation Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 4 – 9 p.m. at Salerno’s Galewood Chapels 1857 N. Harlem Ave. Chicago. Funeral Monday 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Holy Trinity Hellenic Orthodox Church 6041 W. Diversey Ave., Chicago for 11:30 a.m. Funeral service. Interment following to Elmwood Cemetery.
