John Giannini Sr., 85, Bloomingdale, IL, passed away early Thanksgiving morning, November 26th, 2020. He was and always will be someone his family is most grateful for.

He was born in the Molise region of Italy to his mother Clara in 1935 and came by boat to Chicago in 1957 to marry the love of his life, Anita, who he met in a cafe in his hometown, Rocchetta. Together, they built a life they were proud of- having three kids, Julie (Hugh), Remo (Kathy) and John Jr.

John was a beloved grandfather to his three granddaughters, Jenell (Scott), Arianna, and Alexa, and two great-grandchildren, Logan and Eloise.

He is survived by his brother Tony (Joyce) and his sister, Ernestine, who still lives in Italy. He joins his brothers Umberto (Nadia) and Vince (Rina) in eternity.

John was a family man and spent his early life working to build a foundation for his kids and grandkids to build on. As he aged, he spent his days around the kitchen table and next to his family. If you were hungry, he would feed you. Thirsty? Red wine and espresso coming right up. Cheers to our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
