Roy J. Rezba, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021. Roy was born on December 13th, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents Ladd and Otilia (nee Zak) Rezba. Roy grew up in the Northwest suburb of Forest Park, Illinois and even lived on a farm in Crawford, Wisconsin for a while. A proud decorated U.S. Marine, Roy served his country in Korea and was wounded in action on three occasions. He finished his military service in California before returning back to the Chicagoland area. Roy spent the next several years working at Hughes Aircraft and Argonne Laboratory. Roy even dabbled in publishing, for a short time, focusing on Chicago. Roy loved going downtown, often exploring both old places, such as the museums, and new shops or restaurants that would catch his eye. Roy loved to read and was well versed on both current and historical events. Roy spent the last thirty years of his life living in Oak Park, Illinois, independently until earlier this year. Roy is predeceased by his parents, a sister Margaret (Frank) Simek and a brother George who died in infancy. Roy is survived by his son, Steven Rezba, daughter, Diana (Tony) Manzzullo and grandsons, Michael & Vincent Manzzullo as well as nieces and nephews. Roy is also survived by his former spouse, Hope Rezba (nee Peinado). A memorial service will be planned for a future date to honor Roy.
