Rudie Allen Benit went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 28, 2021. Rudie was born January 4, 1937 in Baudette, MN. on the family farm. Rudie was a kind soul, he loved everyone he met and never complained. He had a special bond with animals, especially dogs. He loved church and had a strong faith. Even though Rudie had special needs, that never stopped him from trying. Some of his greatest experiences the last few years of his life, he really enjoyed. He got to go on a plane for the first time, he went swimming, he lived in his very own apartment, and the most memorable experience, was he rode on a fire truck and went 90 ft in the air, something he never forgot. He is survived by his older sister Cleo (Jim) Carpenter of Arizona and younger brother Doug Benit of Michigan; his longtime friend and companion of 30 years Monica Kaminski of Wisconsin; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Edith Benit; his Sister and Brother-in-law Herbert and Bonnie Aichele. Visitation will be held Saturday September 18, 2021 from 12:30-3:00 p.m. at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake Street, Roselle, IL. Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. For info and to sign the guestbook, visit www.salernofuneralhomes.com Burial is private in Baudette, MN.
