My condolences to George's family. I remember George from our years working in the same department at Northwestern University as someone for whom I'd go out of my way to stop to say hello -- I never left his office without catching a long-lasting smile from George. Always, even when he wasn't feeling well. His devotion to his family and particularly to his son's path to success was apparent in everything he said or did. I'm grateful to have known him, and am smiling now recalling his humor and laughter.

My heart feels your loss, but I am comforted by the memories that started in our childhood and continued to adulthood. Dear Mary, my deepest condolences for you and Joseph. I was so shocked when I heard about George's illness and death from my Mom. I remember having a very nice conversation with him not long ago at Joyce's wedding. The few times we met he was so jovial, and always mentioned the fond memories he had of my dad. What a sad day for me and my entire family. We all knew our dear George and were always enchanted by his kindness and his friendliness to all who knew him. George was for us an examplery human being who was always eager to help others in their time of need. His jolly spirit and his contagious smile kept everyone happy. George suffered on Earth due to the cancer which had invaded his body, but he is now in a better place where there is no pain and no suffering. May his pure soul rest in eternal peace and may his family and friends find condolence in the memories of the good times we spent with him.
