Loving daughter of Eduardo and Gertrudes Romero. Loving mother of Angelica, Christina, and Marco Lomibao. Loving sister to Edgar, Sam, Cesar, and John Romero. And loving lola to Aleia. Gloria was a selfless mother who devoted her life to her three children and to God. She spent much of her time in prayer, praying the rosary daily and attending mass. She read her Bible every night before bed, and participated in a prayer group. Gloria was a dedicated nurse who last worked at Hines VA hospital. Her coworkers would describe her as “the Oprah of Hines” because of how well known she was throughout the hospital. Everybody knew her to be kind, friendly, lively, and funny. Her coworkers say they ran into her most going in or out of the chapel. She spent downtime in the office teaching her colleagues how to dance. Gloria spent a majority of her time with her children and her mother. Gloria was her mother’s favorite daughter. She liked to take her mom out to eat at Kinta, and spent time with her daughters. She loved to shop and go out to eat with her family on the weekends. She facetimed and texted her son Marco every day because he was in the navy. She taught her children how to pray and sent them all to a catholic grade school. Every Sunday she would attend mass with her family. She spent every holiday, birthday, and weekend with her children/family. Gloria loved to play the guitar and piano. For fun, she would dance Zumba almost daily. She enjoyed singing karaoke and reading books, her favorite being The Five People You Meet In Heaven, introduced to her by her son. She also loved her daughter’s cat, Fränz, whom she loved to play hide and seek and tag with. He kept her company every day when he daughter was at work. She loved to make people laugh. Gloria was lighthearted. She was strong in faith no matter the circumstances of her life and kept a smile on her face all the time. She was a mother not only to her three children, but to everyone. She treated family and strangers with kindness. She made every day count, living each day as if it were her last. Gloria left happy, proud, faithful, and unquestioning.
