To any one who knew Johnny: And I'm sure he touched many many lives, he truly was one of a kind. The 35 years of working with him and being in his circle of life was a blessing. I never met or will ever meet a man like him. He treated my family like his family. We had so many memories and laughs, good and bad. Love, and sometimes not so love, but we always remained in each other’s lives. I will really miss him with all my heart. He was so inspirational and the things he could pull off were impressionable and unbelievable. I will never meet anyone like him again but I will always cherish the memories and appreciate the opportunity to have known him.

My heart goes out to the family. I met Johnnie in 6th grade going to Beye school Elementary in Oak Park. I think his first words to me was telling me how far he could hit a baseball. I later found out he was not lying. He was affectionately known as Fat Lambo” which he did not mind . He was fearless - I always admired his ability to say what he was going to do and then do it. He defiantly ruffled feathers along the way. He was extremely passionate about his family. Protective of his parents and brother Guy. I witnessed a playground insult against his family. The only time I saw him fight back tears . As Lambo went after the perpetrator, the kid knew instantly a mistake was made and groveled for forgiveness. He opened my eyes to a lot. He leant me the baseball book “”Ball four”. I could not believe adults used the “F word” . I remember his uncle driving us to Wrigley field in 7th grade-dropping us off. We went to the game by ourselves and probably took the “L” home by ourselves. I attended a Lambo family New Year’s Eve party and got a taste of the Lambo tribe. More closeness and just fun. We did not hang out with the same crowd in High School , but was always greeted with a smile and well wishes. I remember someone trying to pick a fight with me in HS and Lambo stepped in and simply told the kid ( by name ) to back off. That was all it took. A friend to the end . Thanks Fat Lambo for the friendship. Tim sheehan

I only recently was befriended by Johnny. His optimism was infectious. Some people come into our lives and we feel we have known each other forever. Johnny was one of those. As we live out our lives we endeavor to make a difference. Johnny made a difference in mine and I'm sure in everyone he befriended. Life well lived. RIP Johnny. God Bless You

I just heard about Johnny’s passing, and it is a very sad thing to comprehend. I will tell you that even though I haven’t seen much of him lately in the past few years I will forever have great memories with him here in Phoenix as well as with his brother Guy. You are missed.

Seems like yesterday when I first met Johnny in 1979. We both obtained our Union cards and started working at the Az Republic in the mailroom. Over the years we became good friends and shared many crazy times together. He was a classic. He was the life of the party. Never a dull moment with Johnny. I will miss him dearly. Mickey, Guy so sorry for your loss. Johnny your in better place now my friend. I love you always...

I’m going to miss this guy. Any time he was around we had fun. One of a kind, for sure. Knew him for about 15 years and always loved him. I wish he was able to be around longer. We got robbed of another 20 years of Tornado. I knew he was in pain, fighting, suffering....rest easy buddy. You’ll always be in my thoughts and memories. Until we meet again.

My cousin, brother, friend and sales mentor... you will be missed and always loved. You lived a wild & fun life. Nobody did it better. You left behind plenty of great memories and laughs that will always be with me in my heart, mind and soul. I'm glad you are peacefully resting and sharing some laughs with cousin Paul. There's only one Johnny Tornado. Love you JT, TC.
