My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Kim, PJ and the rest of the family, I am so sorry for your loss. I had the distinct pleasure of working with John for the past 5+ years. The last 3 of those years he was my cube neighbor. We quickly became friends. Our love of all things pop culture, junk food, cream sodas and trivia have been a staple of our friendship. But more importantly than those things was the warmth and kindness John always showed me. His smile when he'd come in always brightened my day. We loved to do taste tests together on random things (most notably cream sodas). We had planned to compare Mexican Coke with American Coke this past week and they're both still waiting in the office fridge. I'm still going to perform the comparison as that's what John would have wanted but it won't be the same without him. Words cannot express the hole that John has left in our office. Walking past his desk will be hard for a very long time. John was an amazing co-worker but more importantly a precious friend. I miss you John.

I had the honor and privilege to work with John. He was dedicated and talented professional. More importantly, he gave me the gift of sharing his views and thoughts on many interesting subjects and kept the atmosphere around him friendly in the deepest sense of the word. We used to spend time laughing and joking even when times were difficult. John had a positive view of life which helped me and others keep things in prospective. Jobs come and go, when people leave us ... it hurts. It hurts deep. I miss you John. Will always remember your friendly and disarming smile.

John, there is so much more of a relationship that we have left to build, and to know that we won't be able to grow closer as family just breaks my heart. I miss you more than you can understand. Life will not be the same for anyone whose lives you've touched. John had a sense of humor that nobody can replicate but everybody can relate to. His day wasn't complete without an attempt to make somebody laugh. John was incredibly smart, we would have good conversations here and there about medical topics because on top of what he was applying to his job as a software engineer, he was into SO much more. I'm a big car guy, he would have stories about cars to talk to me about. You would talk about music, he's a drummer and has SO much knowledge about all types of music and would even listen to pop-punk and more with PJ! You wanted to talk politics? He knew his stuff, he'd talk to you about it for hours. He had such a way of calming people down in tense situations, he could take a situation that was going nuts and he would walk into it like everything is going slow motion, and would take hold of the situation, calm everyone down, and it would seem like the situation never existed. John, I miss you so much. I can't believe you're gone, but I won't ever forget you. I'll take care of mom and PJ the best that I can. I'll make sure they smile, I'll make sure they're safe, and all of us will be thinking of you daily. I love you, Dad. Thank you for blessing our lives with your presence.

Dear Carol, Kim and family, I am so sorry to hear about John's passing. It was a great shock to Donna and I when we heard yesterday from Tom Barmore. I know this is a very difficult time for you and the family, so please know that we are praying for you all that God will give you comfort in your time of morning. We hope that you can cling to those great memories that you have in better times. Again our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Sincerely, Mike and Donna McCoy

I miss John very much. We (John Lang, John Lynch and I) worked closely especially during the Cloud Project. I got to know him more then. He was such an intelligent person and very professional. His quick and humorous answers during our many chats would always remain in my heart. You were a very special person and I will miss working with you. May you rest in peace.

First, let me start by giving my deepest Condolences to John's wife and family for your loss. John John John, as he would say Judy Judy Judy (Gary Cooper). Most of our work at TDC was via jabber, me requiring some of his expert knowledge on Release Management, so I didn't mess things up. He was always responsive and full of banter and amusement as we discussed the latest challenges. My sense of him was a great human being and just a kind soul. I will miss our chats.

I loved working with John at The Doctors Company. He was a warm and open person always ready fix a problem, push forward whatever fell on his desk or crack a joke to lighten the mood. He will be sorely missed. Deepest condolences to Kim and his family.

I miss John. It's hard to believe we were chatting and making each other laugh just last week. We'd trade stories about house repairs and cheap wine. I'll always remember breaking out a bottle of fine wine for him and John Lang on a company trip to Napa. My heart and sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends. He will be missed.

John was a fierce friend and great colleague. I met him when I was an intern at Motorola in 1999, where he was a mentor and helped me learn the finer arts of programming. He loved telling the story of a crowd forming around him at Dave and Buster's while he played 2112 by Rush on the drum game. Why 2112 ? Because it was the longest song he could play with the least amount of tokens ! I have been friends with John and worked with him at Motorola and The Doctor's Company for 20 years. His gift to the world was an amazing ability to find a way to laugh(and make you laugh) at any situation. I will miss him dearly, and our favorite game of "How quickly can you name the song and band playing on the radio". Then he would rattle off 10 fun facts about the band. My heart goes out to John and his family.
