Beloved husband of Eleanor “Ellie” Gercone, nee Maggiore of 43 years; Devoted step-father of Thomas, Michael, Robert and the late George McMullin; Dear brother of Joyce Bruner, Michael Gercone, Patricia Hensel, Linda Czyz and the late Natal Gercone; Loving Papa of Ilene, Dana, Thomas, Matthew, Jack, Wilson, Michael, Robert, Toby and Anthony; Caring uncle to many and a dear friend to all. Joseph was a longtime member and photographer of CIACO, proud union member of the Carpenter’s Union Local 54. Joseph loved fishing and watching his beloved Blackhawks.

I was very sad when I learned of Joe's passing. My deepest sympathies to Ellie & all of the Gercone famiy. Joe was such a sweetheart and always had a huge smile. May he rest in the arms of angels & I'm sure Uncle Nate was waiting for him at the gates. Sending lots of hugs

So sorry for your loss Ellie and family. Joe was loved and will be missed by many. He was a great Papa to all of his grandchildren, he always spoke of them with love and pride. Joe would always greet you with the biggest smile and a hug. ✝️ Ed & Marge Sergo
