It is with profound sadness that the Cooper family announces the peaceful passing of Loretta Lynn Cooper with her daughter by her side, at the age of 71 on December 8, 2019, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, relative and friend to all lives she touched.

Loretta, who was born in Chicago, IL on August 26, 1948, was predeceased in death by her mother Theresa Futia who died when Loretta was only 3 years old, and her father Charles Crabtree. Along with her late mother whom raised her, Loretta Crabtree; nee: Owens, and her late brothers Ronald Crabtree and Ronald Walker. She was married only one time on March 31, 1979 to her former late husband Creighton Cooper (C.C.), who always held a special place in her heart. She is survived by her beloved daughter Theresa Cooper, her three grandchildren Kyle Nowak, Ariana Solis and Carmelo Solis, her current son-in-law Greg Solis and former son-in-law Ikar Nowak. Loretta will be dearly missed by her one and only loving sister Carlotta Marchese. She will also be fondly remembered by her long-time boyfriend Orlando Serra, numerous relatives and extremely close friends.

She proudly worked at the same company as a Customer Service Manager for nearly 50 years before retiring in 2015. She loved to drink coffee, chit chat with friends and go to have “a bite to eat” (a favorite phrase of hers). She enjoyed cooking, collecting angel figurines and taking care of her plants and flowers (she had a green thumb). Of course, her favorite activity was spoiling her three grandchildren.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Loretta. We loved her as a co-worker, friend, and the voice of our company for such a long time! So many customers have expressed their sorrow at the news of her passing from around the world. I had the privilege to work with Loretta for over 30 years. She was the best employee, with impeccable product knowledge, a sweet voice and wonderful personality, and she will be greatly missed! For those who do not know, Loretta worked for the worlds’ oldest manufacturer of torque wrenches, Sturtevant-Richmont. The company's main customers are Aerospace, automotive, heavy truck and equipment manufacturer's world-wide, such as GM, VW, American Airlines, Boeing, Pratt-Whitney and John Deere amongst many others, and is still Made in the USA in Carol Stream, Illinois. The product is used to assure critical fasteners are tightened to the correct torque value to provide safety and reliability of the products being assembled. Loretta was an important person who used her extensive product knowledge, to guide customers to buy the correct torque tools for their application. Needless to say she had an critical job and did it exceptionally well! She was an employee of the Company longer than any other person in our 90 year history. One of my favorite Loretta stories was when we hired a translator for our Chinese distributor during a visit from a Chinese Company President. When the President met Loretta he gave her a long greeting in Chinese and held her hand. We looked at the translator for the translation and he paused. He said: “I think he either wants a better discount or he just proposed marriage….Your choice…..” We know she is at peace with God in Heaven and pray that her family and friends find comfort. We love you Loretta, you were the best! Sincerely, John Reynertson Jr. President Sturtevant Richmont Torque Measurement Systems
