So many memories keep surfacing. Faith was a wonderful neighbor and friend, ready with a hug and calming reassurance when days were overwhelming, or a witty comment to get me laughing. Yes, her door was always open. Faith had all the treats the Peranteau kids never got at home.! She remains in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh, Mrs. Cheng, you were such a big part of growing up on Princeton Court! I still smile thinking about your gentle teasing when I came over to play with Mark. Laughing at my giant shoes parked next to his and Jan's by the door. Pretending (?) to marvel at how much I ate, yet insisting that I have seconds or thirds at dinner. Supplying the never-to-be-found-at-our-house Doritos and Dr. Pepper to sustain us through the WGN Saturday or Sunday afternoon movie. Thank you for being one of my second moms and making my childhood just that much better. Rest in peace, dear lady. You made the world a better place.

From the time I was nine years old, through my teenage years, college, my 30s, 40s and deep into my 50s, Faith was always Mrs. Cheng to me. Even though she once said it was OK, to call her Faith, Mrs. Cheng will always be one of the most important people in my life. My second mother. And when I think of her now and into the days, months and years to come, I will always think of her heart, her rock-solid belief in the goodness in the world and her laugh. Her laugh was pure joy and the punctuation in all of the best conversations you could have with her. For all of rides, the meals, the nights in your home, your honesty in life and the way you always, and without fail, made a kid from down the street feel like one of your family, I will always be beyond grateful.

Tough to post about my Aunt Faith. I can't believe she's gone! So many memories. I loved her to the moon and back. She will live on in so many young people, not the least of whom is her namesake and my daughter Margaret Faith Kearney, who she dubbed her "unofficial goddaughter." Requiescat in pace.

I am filled with beautiful memories of the role Faith played in my life. She is the closest friend my mom ever had and they were amazing together. Lots of Yatzee and laughter. Faith was like having a close aunt who lived just a free streets away. I loved being at her house. I have always told people I love Dove soup because it reminds me of her. I also remember the most magical story books with holograms she owned and how much I loved sitting with her while she read them to me. I had the opportunity to visit with her many years ago and so thankful my husband got a chance to meet her! She was an important person to our family and she is missed!

I still can’t believe that she is gone. Faith was my mom’s best friend. When I was young, Faith was like another mom. We lived a couple of blocks away and my mom would send us kids down to Faith whenever she needed a break or had to work late. She and mom played Yahtzee and drank coffee together on a daily basis. I’ve visited Faith several times as an adult and loved hearing all the stories she had about my parents ( deceased) and my childhood. My son Arman is a special fan of Faith. Having lost his grandparents when he was very young, Faith was the closest person he had to a grandma. He loved going up to Streamwood and hanging out with her. The last time we saw her she was in the nursing home and Arman and Faith played Uno as much as they could. Everyone I see Clausen pickles or smell Dove soap, I think of her. I’m going to miss her tremendously!

Faith was a wonderful sister and sister-in-law. We loved our too infrequent visits with her. Her name will be carried forward with our daughter Sarah Faith and her daughter Sophia Faith. She was loved and will be missed.

Love you Mom, with all my heart. You were the best mom a son and daughter could ever hope for. You expanded your love to a daughter-in-law and grand daughter, both of whom you loved with no boundaries. We have heard from so many family and friends, your life touched others very deeply, a tribute to the person you were. God bless you and may you rest in peace with the family and friends you loved so dearly.
