Nicole (Nicki) Marie Ham, nee Wellman, age 39 passed away on April 30, 2021. Originally from Villa Park, she had resided in Galena for the past 15 years. She is survived by her partner of 14 years, Chuck Murphy, her 3 children, Trinity Guerrero, Anastacia Ham, Garrett Ham, loving daughter of Linnea & Kent Barney and Richard Wellman Jr. (Sheri), loving sister of Kelli Wellman (Dane Hiteman), Paul Wellman (Missy Schultz), April Alvarez, Michael Alvarez(Ashley), Cristina Nava, Patricia Compton, Anthony Nava and Jessica Nava(Robby Gibbons), loving granddaughter of Matt (Papa) & Betty (Bebby) Zelasco, Lucy (Grandma Lucy) Wellman, great grandparents Norm & Sue Barney, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and her beloved pets Patch, Casey, Midnight, Jasmine, Simba & Boo. Nicole is preceded in death by her infant son Dylan, her grandfathers Andy Landberg & Richard (Whitey) Wellman Sr.

Nicole loved her children dearly. She spoke of them a lot and would have wanted more time with them here on earth. Their greatest memories are their camping trips, campfires, pontoon rides on Lake Galena, playing cards, board games and their conversations.

Memories from a younger age, she would ask Kelli to sleep over in her room, where they would talk & supposed to tickle each others backs…except Nicole would pretend to fall asleep when it was Kelli’s turn, so she wouldn’t have to tickle Kelli’s back. Kelli would make her hold up her end of the deal and they would talk until they grumbled & could barely stay awake. Those were fond moments with Nicole, when Kelli felt closest to her.

Bebby & Papa loved taking the kids to the zoo. Papa stood in line for quite awhile holding Nicole because she wanted to pet the elephant. When it became her turn, she just screamed & screamed, she wanted no part of it! Needless to say, everyone had their eyes on those two making sure that everything was okay and she wasn’t in any kind of trouble.

Nicole used to watch Bebs put her makeup on & the one time Bebs left the room briefly, she returned to find that Nicole got hold of her lipstick & drew all over her face!

Her dads memory is taking her to see the band Big Twist & the Mellow Fellows at the Rosemont Horizon back in the day.

Her moms memories are as a child she could be very mischievous and wanted to constantly be on the go. She listened to Pink Floyd daily. She decorated for every holiday, inside & out. They talked on the phone almost every day & played games on their phones with each other.

Aunt Nancy remembers at the end of each phone call, she always said “Love You”.

Chuck & his sister Rachel have added that she was an avid animal lover, had a huge green thumb for her indoor plants. Their house is full of them. Besides being a good cook, she became quite the Grill Master & grilled out just about every other day. She & Chuck liked to play bingo every week.

She had a big heart, a great personality, loved to laugh & will greatly be missed by all.

WE LOVE YOU NICKI !!!

So many years of knowing Nicki, she was the first friend I think I made when we moved to VP when I was 4. We got in a lot of trouble when we were kid together, but we always had fun. We did lose touch for a while there, but started talking again quite a few years ago, I love going to visit her in Galena, and even took my daughter once. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. I'll miss our random conversations, and talking about so much stuff, and all the good memories from 30 years ago. Our family's love goes out to you all. Nicki will forever be in my heart.

I first met Nikki when I moved to Galena 8 years ago. She and I quickly became friends because our boys are the same age. My family and I ended up spending alot of time with her and her family over the years cooking out, camping, going on adventures together and sitting by the fire. She will be dearly missed by myself and my family.

In 7th grade, you purposely threw blueberries at my brand new WHITE Nike shirt. I was so mad at you and you just laughed your ass off 😉 Even into our adulthood you would always joke about the blueberries. I should have visited you more often when I was in Savanna 🙁 Rest easy my friend ♡♡
