Raymond Anthony Adams, 71, entered eternal peace on November 24th, at his lifelong residence in Oak Park, IL.

He was born August 29, 1949, in Chicago, to Raymond and Evelyn Adams.

He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago, before continuing on to Triton College where he earned his nursing license. He was a long time employee at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL.

Ray was an avid fan of all Chicago sports—Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears and Bulls. You could often see Ray at his favorite establishments in Forest Park and Oak Park. He was truly a friend to many, and he will be remembered for his love and kindness for others.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Eveleyn Adams, and survived by his sister, Susan Adams, and brother, David (Michelle) Adams, and his many cousins and friends.

A viewing will be held at Salerno’s Galewood Funeral Home on Friday, December 4th from 4:00-7:00. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I am so sorry to hear of Ray’s passing. We were close friends for such a long time and then lost touch. It would’ve been nice to connect one more time before he passed away. I am so glad he got to see the Cubs win the World Series. Please let me know when a memorial service will be held. ❤️ Michelle

I have known Ray practically my whole life. He was a very kind person and sad that he entered the eternal life young. He did not suffer which was the main thing. His parents will be waiting for him to welcome him home to the eternal life. My sincere sympathy goes out to Susan and David ( Michelle) Adams for the brother they loved and lost. He will be missed by all! Rest In Peace Ray!

I will never forget when Ray took me with him to lower Wacker on a cold winter day to deliver hot soup to homeless people. That was Ray.
