Interment: Burial Private

Richard DiPrima passed away on September 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father and
mother, Michael and Josephine (Lupo) DiPrima and his beloved wife Kathy. He is survived by his brother
Michael (Laurel) DiPrima and sister Jacqueline Chambers, mother-in-law Ann (Robert, deceased)
Campopiano, sisters-in-law Carol (Dave) McIlwee, Mary (Michael) Newlon, and brother-in-law Ron
Campopiano, (Lois), nieces Ashley McIlwee, Jessica (Charlie) Walczyk, nephews Chris DiPrima, Xavier
Chambers, and Cole Mathews, and several cousins.
Rich was a graduate of St. Bartholomew School in Chicago and Prospect High School, in Mount Prospect.
Rich worked as a Quality Assurance inspector. He particularly enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow
workers during his career at Shamrock international.
Rich loved the outdoors. As a small child, he enjoyed fishing, catching frogs and snakes, and generally
being outside. During their annual summer vacations to a resort in Michigan, their dad would get up
early in the morning to go fishing with Rich, then stay up late to view the stars with Rich’s brother.
During the summer months, Rich worked diligently on his backyard garden. He truly had a green thumb.
He and his wife Kathy spent many happy hours boating on rivers and lakes throughout the Midwest.
They also enjoyed travel, particularly cruising to explore different parts of the world.
Animals were a big part of Kathy and Rich’s life together. Over the years, they cared for several dogs,
cats, and birds. Their latest dog, Gaga, was a great companion to Rich after Kathy’s death.
Kathy and Rich were truly soulmates. They married young, enjoyed their life together, and supported
each other through life’s various challenges.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to RRAF, 613 S. Main St., Lombard, IL 60148, a program for autistic
youngsters and adults, a charity close to the hearts of both Rich and Kathy. Checks should be made out
to RRAF. Please indicate the gift is in memory of Rich DiPrima.
