I took care or shall i say I had the pleasure of being aroubd Mrs. Farina, when I say I have never met such a classy, educated, beautiful, smart, funny woman in my entire life I hope you trust me. She was such a wonderful woman & I loved hearing her great stories. She will truly be missed. Godbless her.

Rose was a long time family friend. While I haven't lived in Chicago for many yeas we would run into each other at various events when I was in town. She was always a bright light and someone that was and will be fondly remembered. My thoughts are with all of you.

Rose saw potential in me that I couldn’t yet see, and I didn’t want to let her down, so I became what she told me I could. She was the most important adult in my life during my teen years, from ages 12 to 18. She was my friend and I am forever grateful for her kindness toward me. She clutched me to her bosom, called me “dear child,” pinched my cheeks, praised and affirmed me like no one else ever has, and was the kindest person to me when I needed it most. If someone could send me a copy of that great photo of her gardening in her overalls, I would love to have it. Sadly I’ll miss the funeral because I’m out of town.

My condolences to the Farina family. As a former colleague working in the same office at the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, I think of Rose often. She was a delightful woman with many stories of her years as the creator and director of event “Under the Picasso.” I thought of her just yesterday as I shopped in the Christkindle Market at the Daley Center, and mused that I must try to find her. Alas, I missed her. And will continue to miss her. Best wishes to her children and grand children. You can be proud of the legacy of Rose Farina.

Rose Farina was a special lady in my life! We met in the events world and she was a mentor a guiding star! I loved every inch of her - feisty - fun - and a true professional! We continued to keep in touch and in her memory I'll continue to wear a hat and wear it proud! God Bless her and God bless her family - she left legions of friends and fans! Let's rename the Daley Center after her! With love and friendship always - rest in peace sweet Rose! Your #1 fan and friend! Jane Canepa The Eventors
