Just before sunset on Sunday, June 14 William George Wormuth’s suffering peacefully ended after receiving his last rights.
William was born on June 20, 1945 in Chicago. He attended St. Leo High School in Chicago.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Gayle (Bernacki). Gayle and Bill lived a full life from Michigan to Florida- from boating, to golfing with family and friends.
He is survived by his son Derek Wormuth (wife Lisa). And grandsons William Wormuth, Jack, Matthew and Daniel Edison. Loving sister and brother in law Marlene and Fritz Johanes. Many nieces and nephews. And his loyal companions, Oscar Mayer and Weiner.
Bill’s two angels waiting in Heaven, daughters Erika Marie and Krystal Gayle. Pre-deceased also includes his parents Jayne and Edwin Wormuth. Sister Sandra Steadman.
Bill started his own body shop Classic Collison Center in Chicago in 1969 and more than 50 years later his business continues and is run by his son Derek. Bill, known as Billy the Kid is known to be a man of very few but very intelligent words. His favorite saying was, may the happiest day of your past be the saddest day of your future.
Visitation will be held at Modell Funeral Home in Homer Glen on Thursday, June 18 from 3-8pm. The funeral will be at Our Lady of the Woods Parish in Orland Park at 11am on Friday, June 19.
