“Antonia Giulia Balice, 85 of Addison, and formerly of Melrose Park passed away November 25th, 2023. Born in Belsito, Italy and came to America in 1964. Giulia was preceded in death by her late beloved husbands- John Orrico, Michele Balice, and by her brother- Giovanni Mancuso. Giulia is survived by her loving son Gino (Anna), grandson John, granddaughter Angeline, her sister Sofia Ferraro (the late Lucio), and numerous nieces and nephews. Giulia was a beloved and cherished Godmother, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, and special friend to many both near and far. Giulia lovingly and selflessly raised her only son as both mother and father, and her love for Gino was endless. Giulia loved both her immediate and extended families, being the best Nanna and Zia she could be. She was always doing thoughtful and generous acts for others and took great joy in cooking, holiday baking, and making a beautiful garden each summer. Her spirit, wise words, and touching stories will live on forever in the hearts of all who loved her.” In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made in honor of Giulia Balice to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org at (800)822-6344 or via mail at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105
