Dear Carol and Family, I first met Bruce on a cold winter day at a Northern Illinois Chapter social event. Bruce graciously listened as I shared my ten-year-old son's debilitating fears about his Marfan diagnosis. In wisdom and without hesitation, Bruce asserted "Let me talk with him." What was spoken, I do not know. But my son's anxieties, and my own, suddenly gave way to peace. Bruce used his remarkable talent for breakthroughs to warm our hearts in the coldest of times. I will remain forever grateful to Bruce- a man among men- and to you, his dear family, who empowered him to be the generous and dedicated servant that enriched my life and the lives of countless others. He was unique and uniquely talented, with an inimitable style and wit, and I will cherish the memories of his friendship. The world is better because of Bruce. As this grief is navigated, my heart goes out to you. I am praying for you, for healing, for peace, for the comfort of many fond memories, and to see Bruce's indelible legacy live on through the lives he touched. I will miss him deeply.

We were so sorry to hear about Bruce's passing. He was so knowledgeable and wanted to get everyone connected and informed about Marfan. He was so helpful to me when I was a young adult and I was new to the Chicagoland area and really also new to the Marfan Community. He really cared and was so kind when my sister passed from Marfan. I will miss Bruce, his humor, his compassion, and his voice always championing the Marfan Community. Carol and Eric Pfeiffer

Bruce saved Howard's life by recommending a doctor at Missouri Baptist to repair his aneurysm. We always depended on Bruce's sage advice based on knowledge and experience. Always kind, calm, warm, and giving. He is in my heart forever.
