Dolores Pellicane nee: Turco; Devoted wife of Salvatore Pellicane; Devoted mother of Linda (Bob) Clare, Jim (Laura) Pellicane and Jennifer (Karl) Toone; Dear daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Turco; Dear sister of the late Mary Lou Baum and the late Joyce Doherty; Dear grandmother of Ellie, Annemarie, Marissa, Anthony, Dominic and Emily.

Dolores Pellicane was a cherished mother, devoted wife, loving sister and doting grandmother. She passed away peaceful in her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Dolores was born on December 2, 1939 and lived a long and happy 83 years.

Dolores started her secretarial career at Sears on Homen Ave in Chicago where she met Salvatore Pellicane, her husband of 56 years. They married and moved to Itasca, Medinah, Tarpon Springs and eventually to West Chicago, where many of their neighbors became their closest friends. They created a life filled with love, laughter and 3 beautiful children and 6 grandchildren.

Dolores was a treasured wife, mother and grandmother who loved nothing more than her family and spending time with them. She loved to host holidays, clung to traditions and always made everyone feel welcome. When her children were young she worked at St. Peter’s School in Itasca, she was adored by the nuns and the students. Once her grandchildren were born, she continued her involvement in her families’ lives by supporting their sports and theater activities. Although she was there to watch, she really just wanted to brag. Anyone who knew Dolores, knew her grandchildren were her whole world. This admiration went both ways, her grandchildren included Dolores in all parts of their lives.

Dolores loved Disney, Christmas, Notre Dame, playing the slots in Las Vegas, entertaining, and eating desserts. But showing photographs and bragging about her grandchildren was her very favorite thing to do.

I am so very sorry to hear about Dolores, she was the best, thinking back to the great times we had at Sears.
