Dorothy C. Stasioski (nee Gulczynski). Beloved wife of the late Walter. Loving mother of Walter Stasioski, Joyce Milewski and Bev (Kevin) Anderson. Dear grandmother of Teddy Milewski, Jennifer (Lori) Clark and Tom (Kristen) Stevenson. Cherished great grandmother of Brendan Tomczak, Jaedan Droessler, Allison Altman, Tristan Stevenson, Abbey Altman, Jameson Stevenson and Quintin Altman. Adoring sister of the late Chester Gulczynski, late Richard (late Delores) Gulczynski, late Jean (late Jim) Preisler, late Frances (late Tom) Rutkowski, and the late Florence (late Paul Earl) Cheek. Fond aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews. Born in 1927 on the southside of Chicago, she attended St. Joseph’s grammar and High schools. She eventually got married in 1956 to her loving husband, Walter, and moved to the North side and grew into a big Cubs fan. In the nearly 40 years they were married, they happily raised 3 children. She loved to cook and clean and do whatever it took to support the family. She continued to enjoy ironing everything, until her final months. It took her until 1980 to take her only 2 airplane flights to visit their son in Kansas City where he went to work after college. After her children were grown, she began enjoying 3 grandchildren, and eventually 7 great grandchildren. Attending their school concerts and plays and playing rummy with the great grandchildren, was a fun day. She enjoyed making jigsaw puzzles when she wasn’t watching the Cubs. She was always helpful, kind, loving, a sweetheart and a strong polish woman. Family, including extended family, God, daily prayers, and church were very important to her.

Dear Walter, Beverly and Joyce, I was sad to hear of Dorothy’s passing. She was my cousin from dear auntie Martha. My dad Ed was Martha’s favorite and I visited 48th and Winchester regularly, especially when she made holiday real Polish sausage and horseradish. I remember your parents wedding in 1956. Ron Cheek and I worked the coat room and we made $10 each. Your dad Wally was the best dancer and everyone liked dancing with him or just watching. As cousins we have gone our separate ways but I will forever cherish my time with the Kwiatkowski family and all my aunts and uncles, along with my cousins. I have lived in Lake Geneva since I got married to Barbara in 1970. We have 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren. Life is good and we spend winters in Naples Florida where we are now. May you all be well and know that your parents were wonderful people who I remember so well. Sincerely, your cousin Tom Kwiatkowski.

She the most lovely lady. I cherished her as an Aunt. Always so kind and caring. The most devoted wife and mother. I will miss her weekly Sunday afternoon phone calls….
