Erika and I met in the St. Giles Prayer Shawl ministry. She instigated our support of the girls at Mercy Home. first with purses and headbands, then scarves, mittens and more. She was always thinking about other people's needs and loved children. She appreciated that, in me, she found someone who understood her German and knew where she came from. She told me stories of her childhood. We shared crochet tips and patterns. She was equally interested in all the others involved in the ministry. See page 3 of the 1st Quarter of our newsletter for a photo of Erika and the response from Mercy Home http://www.stgilesparish.org/wp-content/uploads/Prayer-Shawl-Ministry-Newsletter-First-Quarter-2020.pdf Mary and I watched her live streamed funeral. Knowing her, I am sure she would not have been as pleased by the tributes paid her as she would have been pleased and proud of how well you all preformed and made it so for her. You know she is a saint. You are her miracles.

With heartfelt thoughts and condolences to you Dr. Wright and family, I can only imagine the pain and void you feel in your heart for the loss of your mother. The loss of parents are always a hard time to deal with but the loss of a mother seems tragic. I would like for you to know that I am praying for your strength through this time. I ask that you continue to lean on God's unchanging hand. He has the peace that surpasses all understanding and that you will need to endure this great loss. I can remember seeing your mom so happy at your 50th birthday party and rocking to the music but smiling because she was with her children. I know you all have a special type of love for her and she had a special type of love for each of you all as well. The Lord gave her to you all as a precious gift for the moment and we thank Him for allowing you all the time you had with her. "For weeping endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning", and on the morning she went back home to her Father in heaven was a joyous occasion for her! We love you and will continue praying for you all! Fresenius Gary, 8730 will be here when you need us!

Erika Wright was a wonderful woman that I had the pleasure of meeting a few years ago. She was waiting to say hello after mass, but more so to thank me for my diction as a lector. She really appreciated that she could understand the readings, and that was the start of a wonderful friendship. I eventually met one of her sons and two daughters and a granddaughter. I always looked forward to seeing her at the 4:30 p.m. mass, even though I could see that it was quite a struggle for her to make the journey. My condolences to the family and friends of Erika Wright. May she rest in peace. Amen.

Mrs Wright was a incredible woman. She raised two exceptional children; Chris and Milton. Chris is a classmate of mine and his life has reflected how he was blessed with such a incredible woman; that his mother was. God bless the Wright family and God bless Mrs Wright.
