Frank René Cadic passed away peacefully on November 2, 2021. Born in Trenton, New Jersey on November 12, 1934 to parents, Francis and Clara (Hoffman) Cadic, Frank was just ten days shy of his 87th birthday.
After graduating from Hamilton High School in 1952, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Four years later, he received Honorable Discharge and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in which he was stationed in Turkey and had the opportunity to travel across Europe. Airman Cadic received Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Air Force in 1961 and he proceeded to fulfill his passion for learning by obtaining degrees in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Business Management. While residing in Rochester, NY, Frank pursued a career in computer programming in which he designed and implemented systems for many corporations across the U.S. He received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career in IT (in fact, he would proclaim that Bill Gates and IBM stole his program!).
Frank’s zest for life and adventurous spirit was carried through his travels across the world sharing most with his beloved brother, David Cadic and favorite cousin, Ronnie Cadic, along with their spouses. He made lifelong friendships beginning in High School whom he spoke to often. While his career in computer programming relocated him and his family to several places in the U.S., his home in Hanover Park, IL was the place he cherished the most and keeping his house beautiful brought him joy. Frank enjoyed many hobbies through out his life including but not limited to fishing, golfing, bowling, gardening and most recently babysitting his great grandchildren, including his newest “babies” who lit up his world!
Frank was truly the life of the party and all who knew him will always remember him for his stories, charming personality and of course his jokes and pranks that would entertain the masses. His main priority was ensuring that everyone around him was happy. He certainly achieved this through his unwavering love and support. As the family patriarch, Frank was immensely proud of every member and even up until his last days, he would always put their needs before himself.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife Nancy, and brother David Cadic. He was survived by his adoring daughters, Renée Melbourn, Deanna Cadic, and their mother/his first wife, Connie Pickell as well as his stepsons, Mike (Sheila) Koch and Mark Koch. He was a proud grandfather to Jessica (Tim) Schnitzler; Eric (Diana) Melbourn; Brittany (Jered) Hensley; Samantha, Jim and Maggie Koch; his cherished eight great grandchildren, Dylan, Jayde, Mya, Camden Schnitzler; Caden, Lucas, Emersyn Hensley; and Everly Melbourn.
A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at Salerno’s Funeral Home on Sunday, November 14th between 12-3 pm CST. Please raise a glass of wine in Frank’s honor, and as he would say with a smile on his face, “Keep on, keeping on! À votre santé!”

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's always tough losing a parent. You did a great job of taking care of your dad and helping him when you could. Hugs to you and your family.
