Helen June Mahn

Visitation Time: All Services will be Private
Interment: Bohemian National Cemetery Association

Helen June Mahn passed away peacefully surrounded by her sons on November 10, 2021. Beloved wife of the late John Dennison “Denny”. Devoted mother of Peter (Diana), Greg (Pam), and Mark (Angela). Loving grandmother of Joshua, Andrew, Ashley, and Melanie. Proud great-grandmother of Matthew.

Helen was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 21, 1932 to Lawrence and Helen (Smejkal) Ziders and was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Helen and Denny lived in their home in Oak Park since 1963 where she was a proud mother and homemaker. Helen was an avid reader, enjoyed time with her family, and loved music. She was known for her holiday baking, love of all plants – especially violets. Many fond memories of watching Chicago sports teams, family dinners, and beautiful candlelit Christmas Eve celebrations. Strong in her faith, she found comfort with her devotion to St. Francis who is quoted as saying, “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle”. May she shine in His everlasting light. Rest in peace, Mom.

All Services will be private.
