Janice Bochantin

Janice Bochantin (nee Zych). Beloved wife of Marlin. Devoted mother of Michele (Michael) Kackert, Jaime Bochantin and Julie (Dan) Schuman. Adored Grandma Sweetie to Emma, Michael, Nicholas, Addison, Mackenzi and Mason. Janice was loving and giving to her husband, daughters, grandchildren and grand “fur” babies. Her friends and family recall her best for the parties she threw and the holidays she orchestrated. Every party needed a theme and Janice went all out with decorations, props and food that mirrored the theme of the party. She was famous for her appetizers and each event would feature at least one new recipe. There wasn’t a holiday she didn’t like but her favorites were Easter, Halloween and especially Christmas. Easter always featured elaborate hand-made baskets for her daughters and grandchildren; while Halloween was a staple that brought everyone together for pumpkin carving. Christmas was the envy of other families and friends because of the sheer number of gifts and the fact that Janice started buying and wrapping them right after the New Year. She also picked up throughout the year dozens of small essential items that she put in stockings for everyone in the family (kids and adults). She loved decorating and it was common for her to put up at least four different trees and made sure that there were presents overflowing under each one (of course the wrapping paper had to match the tree decorations). Janice worked as an HR Specialist for over 25 years for the Village of Elk Grove helping employees with benefits, insurance issues and so much more. She also liked to express her creativity by offering and delivering candy buffets for weddings, showers, birthdays, etc. Also, because of her immense creative talents, she participated at local craft fairs, proudly displaying her beautiful and unique jewelry and “wearable art” (sweatshirts and tops). Her customers were blown away by her immense talents. In addition to attending her grandchildren’s events and activities, Janice loved spending time with the many dogs she had over the years and also going to the casino. We will never forget her beautiful face, generous nature, dynamic personality and her unlimited compassion for family and friends. Janice will be greatly missed– she was truly and deeply loved.
