John Paul Schelling went home to the Lord on July 4th at 4:50 AM. Born to Pastor James Brandt Schelling and Sharon Schelling (Kaye) on January 26th, 1963, John was a warmhearted, helpful, and highly athletic son. John was born in Sioux Falls, SD, moved to Franklin Park, IL, and settled in Roselle, IL in 1981. He served the Dupage County Sheriff’s office for 20 years. John loved his time as a police officer, and remembers his friends and colleagues with great regard. John is a loving father to two children, Adam and Amanda, a middle-brother to James Jr. and Peter, and a charismatic uncle to David, Taylor, Brett, Jessica, and Luke.

Visitation Friday, July 7, 2023, 4:00pm to 9:00 pm at Salerno Funeral Home, 450 W. Lake Street, Roselle, Il.

Lying in state Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 9:00 am until time of service 10:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 405 S. Rush Street, Roselle, Il.

Interment Mount Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst to follow.
