I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my boyhood friend Joseph. Joe and I first met in kindergarten at St. Patrick Academy on Chicago's westside in 1945. We developed our friendship through all the grades graduating in June of 1954. Our graduating class was made up of nine girls and three boys. We both went to different high schools, Joe to St. Phillips and me to Austin but we kept in contact through our high school years. Because of his chosen profession I was able to maintain some contact with Joe when I made funeral visitations through the years. He was very instrumental in helping me when my father passed away in 1968 and again a few years later for my uncle Joe. A few years ago Joe graciously arranged a mini reunion of our grade school classmates with a luncheon out in Bloomingdale. We all had a great time thanks to Joseph. Recently we kept in contact via a mutual friend Rich Morbidoni. I extend my sincere condolences to the Salerno family. While Joe is no longer here his smile and life's contributions will last forever. Richard Palese Perry (Rich)

To the Family of MR. JOSEPH SALERNO. Joe was an amazing person, I truly believe God sent him to earth as his Angel. He cared for so many people and their families. He always put the needs of others first. I have known Joe since I was a little girl. And all my family members before me truly appreciated Joe. My heart hurts for you his Sons, family and loved ones. Sitting with him in his office was the last time I seen him not too long ago. He was very proud of his Sons, Grandchildren and Family as he showed me all the family pictures, and gave me details for each family members. So very proud he was. My family and my prays and love go out to his Sons and Family. Joe you will truly be missed, but your work as an Angel here on earth is done. God did not want you to suffer anymore and needed you in heaven as his Special Angel at his side once again. You are home now. Until we meet again MR. JOSEPH SALERNO. REST IN PEACE. Love And Respect Debra Difiore Carouchi And Family.

Oh, Joey, dear cousin, my heart is breaking. I know you were tired, and you did more than your part in this world, so yes, it was time to go and you are now in a more peaceful place. But the living have to go on in this world without your smile, your gentleness, your gentlemanly manner, your ribbing and teasing, and I for one will miss our phone calls and visits. The joy and trials of big families is that we love greatly and lose often. Your sons did, and are doing, you proud as you have done for our family. That I can't be there for you and with you and my cousins is one of my worst nightmares come true. My heart is holding you all close.
