Keith M. Toomire

Keith M Toomire, 92, passed away Jan 29, 2024. Born Oct 6, 1931 in Mt. Vernon, South Dakota. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Air Force. He last worked as a water systems operator for the Village of Elk Grove Village retiring in 1997 after 25+ years of service. Beloved husband of 63 years to the late Angie; Devoted father of Ken (Barb) and Andy Toomire; Loving son of the late Pearl and the late Lawerance Toomire; Dear brother of the late Merle Toomire, Linda (late Emil) Sechel and Diane (Bill) Perkins; Proud grandfather of Matt and Katie Toomire; Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Keith was truly a “jack of all trades” that had a unique ability to build or repair almost anything. If someone was in need, he was the type of person to try and do everything in his power to help them out. He enjoyed watching a good western movie, taking the occasional fishing trip up to Canada, camping on family vacations, listening to country tunes by Marty Robbins, shooting a friendly game of pool and eventually became an avid golfer. While being a man of few words, his love and support for his family and friends was unconditional and Keith will be truly missed by all that knew him well. Visitation will be on Friday, Feb 16th from 4:00-8:00pm. There will also be a visitation on Saturday, Feb 17th at 10:00am with a memorial service beginning at 11:00am.
