Born on May 8,1972, Marco Antonio Garzon was the son of Jose Garzon and Ruth Garzon and grew up in
Chicago, Ukrainian Village. He attended Holy Name Cathedral High School where he excelled
academically and formed lifelong friendships.
Marco had a passion for grilling, playing poker and travelling. He always looked to help others whenever
and however he could…all of which brought him immense joy throughout his life.
Professionally, Marco had a successful career at Metra where he made significant contributions and
earned the respect of his colleagues. (LOL) Well at least some. You knew he cared for you—if he fed you,
or let you eat at his table. He will be remembered for his professionalism, integrity, unwavering work
ethic, his love for food and sarcastic wit.
Above all else, Marco cherished his family and friends. He was a loving partner, stepfather, fur dad,
grandpa, brother, uncle, son, cousin, and friend, always ready to offer support, guidance, and a listening
ear. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Marco is survived by his family members, spouse (Jessica), stepdaughter (Analyss), grandson (Emiliano),
fur babies (Coco & Lola), siblings (Joe, David, Angelique and Anthony Garzon), nieces and nephews
(Anna, JJ and Aaliyah) as well as numerous relatives and friends who will continue to honor his memory
with love and affection.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Marco Antonio Garzon will be held on Saturday February 24,
2024, 3-9pm, at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels.
Donations may be made to Angelique Garzon (773-656-0806) in memory of Marco Garzon.
WATCH OUT FOR THEM GARZONS
Rest in peace Fat Boy. You will forever remain in our hearts.

Marco, you will be missed. I remember when we first met and you brought me a Ricobenes steak sandwich. You asked me if you could attend my poker school. I was honored to have you work as a dealer for me. You became a great friend. Til we meet again.

Marco allowed me the opportunity the pleasure and I believe some fate was involved in becoming not just his peer and coworker., he allowed me to become his friend. Good, Bad and Indifferent we discussed it all. And it’s true. If he fed you, or invited you to break bread…..you were in the circle. He worked smart and not hard, I learned a lot and he helped me in my career as a trainmaster. Rest EZ, Big Guy you will truly be missed. Jax

I feel cheated. We only recently became friends. I would try so hard to be your friend and you were dismissive. The minute I said “forget you,Marco” you started speaking to me. I know you were trying to teach me to stop being so nice and love myself!! I got the lesson. Thank you, buddy!! You will be missed!!!

Marco, thank you so much for being sweet to meet her in high school. I was smiling goofing around so sweet to see someone with a happy disposition, and spread smiles to everyone else. That’s one of the greatest gifts you can give in life thank you for being so sweet. May God welcome you into his arms and rest in peace forevermore.
