Maria Bolzan

Maria Giovanna Bolzan (nee Gervasi), age 95, loving wife of the late Rino, cherished mother of Diane Bolzan and Denio (Terri) Bolzan, nonna to Michelle (Tom) Welch and Michael Bolzan, special “bisnonna” to Gemma Welch, aunt to many nieces and nephews, godmother and “Mo” to others, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 17, 2021 at her home in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born in Bayonne, New Jersey, Maria at a young age, along with her family, returned to their native home near Venice, Italy. Years later she and Rino immigrated to America as young newlyweds after World War II, ultimately settling in the Chicago area and she eventually retired in Scottsdale. Maria worked as a talented, high-end seamstress for many years, eventually transferring her skills to Motorola as a wire technician. Maria was a devoted mother and nonna and was a loving wife to the late Rino for 52 years. She had an infectious smile and laugh and was a force of nature who brought joy into many lives. She will be deeply missed.
Burial services are private at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in the name of Maria Bolzan to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
