With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Marie Cifaldi, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, on October 14, 2020.

Marie, affectionately known as Noni Mitzi, was 86 years old, and the matriarch of our family. She treasured life and embraced every moment. If she ever had a microphone in her hand, you knew you were in for a treat.

Marie was a loyal mother to Colleen Celenza, Nancy Cifaldi, Diana (Chris) Rouser, Susan (Bill) Mataragas, Michael (Barbara) Cifaldi, and James (Magdalena) Cifaldi. She was an adored grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Marie was the faithful daughter of the late Joseph and Angeline Fatigato. She was a dear sister to the late Roger (Phyllis) Fatigato, Agnes (Phillip) Benedia; Anthony (Kathleen) Fatigato, and Joseph (Georgia) Fatigato. She was a cherished aunt and cousin to many.

My dear cousins: Colleen, Nancy, Dee Dee, Sue, Mike and Jimmy—Frankie and I send our love and prayers for God’s peace and comfort. I’m so sorry I couldn’t be with you now, but I’m so grateful I spent time with your mom a couple months ago. The sadness in my heart and feeling of loss are enormous, but memories of my aunt will keep me laughing forever! She was the Queen of fun! Her strength and fortitude were so greatly admired. I miss her so much! Until we meet again, sweet Aunty Mitz! ♥️

To my dear family in Illinois, JIm and I send our deepest sympathy to all of you. Aunty Mitzie was soooo loved and soooo secure in knowing her family was a strong foundation of love to each other. She will be missed...she will be thought of often, and she will always be remembered. She was a star in her own right! Now she is shining brightly in heaven. Love to you all! Jim and Angie Barker

Our hearts are broken. She was irreplaceable. Thankfully she left us with great memories, but more importantly, she left a legacy of what FAMILY looks like. Our lives were richer for knowing her and loving her. I will miss you, Auntie...my Godmother. You are forever in my heart.
