I am so sorry that Marilyn has passed, and I extend my deep sympathy to Craig, Brad and Matt. Marilyn and I met ten years ago on an international fiber art website and chat room, and we quickly became friends. It helped that she was in Elgin and I lived in Skokie. We were able to meet halfway for lunch and "show and tell" when we would critique each other's artwork in person. We also shared craft and art-making in each other's homes. We attended a couple of local sheep and wool festivals together. We had great fun! We also emailed frequently because--well she was a writer--and it was a great way to stay in touch. Even though I moved out of state a few years ago, we were able to keep up our correspondence. We shared our family events, personal musings, and our love of all things felt and fabric. She was a great friend, very caring and supportive, and I will miss her greatly.

Aunt Mar will be severely missed. She was always a burst of energy and laughter at any event. She was a source of knowledge and creativity and a voice of reason. My memories of her will always be fond. She always gave such thoughtful and amazing gifts. She will hold a huge spot in my heart always. Uncle Craig, Brad and Matt - I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts have been with you these past few weeks and my heart goes out to you. I am sorry, I couldn't be there today. There is no where I would rather be, but it just wasn't possible. Strength, love and fond memories to all as you celebrate Aunt Mar's life and say goodbye.

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Marilyn in person, we were friends. Marilyn always had a word of support when I was doubting myself in my profession (we shared a love of fibre crafts and had many a conversation about wool). I really enjoyed our email exchanges and getting to know her lovely family through her. I will miss her very much. May she rest in peace. Sending my love to Craig, Brad, Matt, Lisa, Ken, Lucas and Joshua.

I did not know Marilyn only through Craig through Facebook. Craig lost a beautiful woman, wife, friend and mother & grandmother to their wonderful children. Craig’s mother & dad were real good friends with my mom & dad, Doris & Benny Webster. We all kind of grew up together as our parents would have get togethers. I’m very sorry for the loss of Marilyn but pray God brings comfort & peace to Craig and the entire family & friends! Thankful Marilyn is now with Jesus and we will all see each other one day soon. Love & peace to you Craig, Laurie

Marilyn and I worked together many years ago, and we kept up a friendship. She was a wonderful, caring person and a beautiful writer. While she had been ill, the news of her passing came as a shock. Marilyn was a fighter and went through a lot in her last years. May she be with the angels and may your memories comfort you. Sending hugs virtually, Judy Filek

Since kindergarten at Haugan School, Marilyn has been in my life. Although we left Chicago and have lived far away, I have tried to stay in touch and share news. Marilyn was a wonderful friend and I always admired her positive, caring attitude. I can only hope that the many warm memories will support and comfort Marilyn’s family and friends at this difficult time. Much love, Anne Klowden
