I am posting with a saddened heart that my dear husband, Dick, has passed from this world on Friday morning, August 25th, after a 2-1/2 year battle with cancer. He was loved by all who came to know him and he will be truly missed and cherished. Below is his obituary which will also be posted on the website of the funeral home starting September 1st. Your family and friends will always love you and remember all the amazing values and morals that you believed in and instilled in them.
Richard Patrick Golden
(December 17, 1944 – August 25, 2017)
Richard Patrick Golden (Dick), a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully from this life on Friday, August 25th in his home.
Richard was an extremely hard worker who started up a circuit board company in 2002 which became very successful. He was also an avid golfer. He loved vacationing, sunbathing and animals.
Richard was preceded in death by his brothers Eugene and William Golden, his parents, John and Eleanor Golden, his sister-in-law Maureen Golden and his father-in-law, Leonard Powers.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Marie, his two daughters, Jessica Lynn and Jennifer Mary (Nick), his two sons, Sean Patrick and Ryan Michael, along with three grandchildren, Kaleo, Steven and Ava.
Richard is also survived by his siblings Maureen Emmons (Jack) and John Golden, and numerous nephews and nieces who loved him dearly. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Jack Emmons, Robert Powers and Lawrence Powers, his sister-in-law, Ann Golden and his mother-in-law, Lillian Powers.. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Nicholas Sarno.
Visitation will be at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 West Lake Street, Roselle, IL on Tuesday, September 5th from 3:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held the following day at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels at 10:00 am. Then we will drive to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood, IL for services there scheduled at 1:30 p.m. There will be a luncheon after the service in the banquet hall at Silver Dollar Restaurant, 422 E. Mississippi Avenue, Elwood IL for those who wish to join us in celebrating Richard’s life.
In lieu of flowers, you can make a memorial donation in memory of Richard Golden to Hope for Paws, ASPCA or the Humane Society.
