Thomas G. Buhrfeind
Tom was born on October 26, 1970 and passed away on December 6, 2023. He is survived by his parents, George and Mary Ann (Wojcik) Buhrfeind and his sisters Catherine Clinton, M.D. (Ed Clinton) and Susan Metzner (Bruce Metzner). He has three nephews, Michael Metzner, Zachary Metzner and Edward Clinton; and two nieces, Micayla Clinton and Ali Clinton.  His grandparents were Adam and Hattie Wojcik and George and Delrose Buhrfeind. Tom grew up in Medinah and attended St. Walter grade school and Driscoll Catholic High School. Shortly after high school graduation he joined the Marine Corps and did his basic training in San Diego, California. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and later at Air Station El Toro California as a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) defense specialist. He is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War. After the Marine Corps he attended Illinois Institute of Technology.  His began his career in computer contract work. He then transitioned into trading and writing custom algorithms for a company trading on the Asian Markets.  Tom then joined C.E. Niehoff & Co and worked in their IT department, responsible for launching their first website and then spent the rest of his career in cyber security for the corporation. Tom is remembered for his quick wit and strong patriotic dedication. He was a very loyal person and quietly thoughtful.  Tom’s motto was “He who laughs lasts.”  He loved living in Wisconsin, riding his motorcycle and caring for his cats. His family will miss his kind heart, his creative spirit, his sense of humor and his outrageous Christmas gifts.

I really have no words for this. Tom was one of a kind. he was a great guy and I have so many memories with him. He will be dearly missed! My condolences to the family. Rest in peace friend!
