Christos S. Tsakalis passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Beloved husband of Eleftheria, nee Lambos, for 54 years. Loving father of Efthimia (Steven), Labrini, Sotiria (Ilias), Sotirios (Catherine); Proud grandfather of Elianna, Antonia, Nikolas and Sabrina; Devoted son of the late Sotirios and Athena, nee Varoutsos; Dear brother to the late Constantinos (Vasiliki), Yiannis, the late Vasilo (the late Haralambos), Demetra (Stratos), Yiannoula (the late Christos); Loved brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. As a young husband and father, Christos moved from the small village of Kokkora, Arcadia in Greece to the US to build a better life in 1970. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to provide for his wife and family; He was a hard working and proud member of the Painters Union, Local 147, for over 20 years. He’s been a life long soccer fanatic cheering on his favorite team Olympiacos. He spent many years doing anything and everything for his grandkids; He loved his family and grandkids more than life itself and will be dearly missed. Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at The Greek Orthodox Church of St Demetrios located at 893 N. Church Road, Elmhurst, IL for visitation from 930a-1030a and funeral service at 1030a. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove. In lieu of flowers donations are asked to be made to the American Heart Association in Christos’ Memory, visit www.heart.org to donate.
