Dr. Santina “Sonny” Litturi, D.D.S., age 91; Beloved wife of Gregory “George” Catrambone; Loving daughter of the late Frank and Antoinette Litturi; Dear sister of the late Dan and the late Antoni “Toni” Litturi; Beloved aunt, great aunt, cousin, Godmother and close friend to many. Dr. Litturi was born on Taylor Street in Chicago where the current Rosebud Restaurant is located. Her parents were immigrants from Italy. Dr. Litturi was a recipient of the Vito Marzullo Scholarship award. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois. In 1949 she graduated from the University of Illinois Dental School. She practiced dentistry in Chicago and Park Ridge for almost 40 years. She was a proud member of The American Dental Association, The Illinois Dental Society, The Chicago Dental Society, The Elmwood Park Women’s Club, St. Vincent Ferrer Parish, The Arcolian Dental Arts Society (Past President). Dr. Litturi was the first woman appointed to the Illinois State Board of Dental Examiner by Gov. James Thompson. Santina served as Dental Examiner for the North East Regional Board (NERB) for over 30 years.
