Eleanor “Ella” “La” C. Ventrello, a cherished pillar of the Bartlett and former Chicago community, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on December 16, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Mary and Michael Ventrello, Eleanor was a beacon of joy and generosity throughout her life.

Known affectionately as “La” to her friends and family, Eleanor’s vibrant spirit and infectious laughter left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her sense of humor was unparalleled, often lighting up a room and bringing smiles to the faces of those around her. Eleanor’s loving nature extended beyond her family to the countless friends and acquaintances she made over the years.

Eleanor’s entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as the former owner of Ella’s Beef Hut in Chicago, where she served not only delectable meals but also warmth and camaraderie. Her dedication to her work and her employees was evident in every aspect of her business. Following her successful venture, Eleanor continued to touch lives as a devoted employee at Jewel Foods, where she retired after 24 years of dedicated service. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were admired by colleagues and patrons alike.

As the beloved daughter of her late parents, Eleanor carried on the legacy of kindness and strength they instilled in her. She was a dear sister and aunt, treasured for her generous spirit and the unconditional love she offered. Her relationships were built on a foundation of mutual respect and affection, and the bonds she formed were unbreakable.

Eleanor’s life was a testament to the power of laughter and love. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she often went out of her way to support and uplift others. She will be fondly remembered as a woman who lived her life with an open heart, always ready to give of herself.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate Eleanor’s life. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21st, starting at 9 AM, followed by a chapel service at 11 AM at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, located at 450 W. Lake St., Roselle, Illinois 60172. It is with heavy hearts but cherished memories that we bid farewell to Eleanor, a remarkable woman whose legacy will continue to inspire and influence for generations to come.
