Harold F Kromer, a 22 year Navy veteran and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great
grandfather, died on July 18 th , 2020 at the age of 77 at his home in Woodstock IL.
Harold is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn, and his Children, Michael, Harry (Heather), Tim
(Shaun), and Tom (Michelle). He also, left behind 11 grandchildren, Brittany, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Alexander,
Destynie, Carolyn, Andrew, Brendan, Amanda, Alexia, and Katryna as well as 5 great grandchildren.
Harold enjoyed many hobbies but was truly dedicated to his family. A self-proclaimed scrooge, he
always seemed to find the Christmas spirit that showed in his generosity and his bubbling excitement on
Christmas morning. He always made time to enjoy a game of asphalt football until it hurt (literally, the
skinned knees!) or vacations spent fishing and camping. For his wife, there was not a finger that did not
have diamond or a desire he would not attempt to fulfill. When the grandkids and great grandkids came,
he became the typical grandfather and made sure he always gave them their first Oreo just to see their
smiling face (and the mess mom and dad had to clean up). Papa loved to spoil them.
When Harold did take time for himself the majority would be spent building computers from scratch,
coding a custom household inventory program, or leading computer user groups. He always enjoyed
challenging himself. Other time would be spent making music, how he loved his Baldwin organ and
guitars (another gift he passed down to his kids and grandkids). Rock on Dad, we loved your original
song. Finally, he loved DA BEARS and never missed a game.
