John Catalano, age 79, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022. John is survived by his wife
Priscilla, daughter Michelle (Jason) and son Michael (Carly).

John was born in Chicago, IL on November 1, 1942 to Carmello and Catherine Catalano. At
age 16, he went to work with his father in the auto radiator repair business. Shortly after that
time, John began dating his eventual wife of 54 years, Priscilla. After their marriage in 1967,
John became partners with his father, operating Mel and Sons Auto Radiator Repair for nearly
35 years. John was well regarded by those who knew him as being honest, thoughtful and hard
working.

John was a loving husband and devoted father. He was a sports fan, an avid golfer and loved to
play cards with anyone who could put up with his relentless heckling around the card table.
Without question, his number one passion in life was his family, from his wife and children, his
mother and father, his brothers and sisters, and his cousins and friends. He valued those
relationships higher than anything else in the world.

His last hours of his life were very happy, enjoying them on a date with his beloved wife, over a
fantastic meal he raved about from the first bite to the moment he walked out the door.

Visitation and Services

Visitation services are scheduled from 3:00pm – 9:00pm on Thursday, February 10th at
Salerno’s Rosedale Funeral Chapels on 450 W Lake St, Roselle, IL 60172.

A mass in John’s honor will be served Friday morning, 10:45am at St. Isidore Church
on 427 W Army Trail Rd, Bloomingdale, IL 60108.

A graveside burial service will proceed after the mass at Assumption Catholic
Cemetery on 1S510 Winfield Rd, Wheaton, IL 60189

After the burial services, friends and family are invited to join Priscilla, Michelle and
Michael for a memorial luncheon at Cooper’s Corner on 27W150 Roosevelt Rd, Winfield,
IL 60190
