Interment:

Joyce Marie Sirkman, age 76, peacefully went home to be with her Lord Jesus on December 8th, 2024, at Ascension Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
Joyce was born on April 27th, 1948, the twin sister of James E, to Dorothy and Edwin Kasper, of Oak Lawn, Illinois. She was known throughout her life as a person of diminutive form but a huge heart and a joyful, fun spirit, especially toward children, thus fulfulling her given name perfectly. Especially in her later years, she loved to sing Spiritual songs, quote Scripture, and offer prayers spontaneously to friends and family she encountered.
In 1963, Joyce graduated from St. Gerald School in Oak Lawn; and after receiving her GED, she went on to graduate, with honors, from the College of Du Page, with an AAS Degree in Child Care and Development, in 1995. She was a member of the esteemed Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She was beloved by her many students at A Bright Beginning Academy, where she served as Assistant Director until her retirement in 2011.
Joyce is survived by her lifelong love and husband of 52 years, Harvey F. Sirkman, her stepchildren, Mark Sirkman and Mary (Sirkman) Edstrom, sister Nancy (Kasper) Morowczynski, Brother David and Sister-in-law Kathy Kasper, Sisters-in-law Linda Kasper and Susan (Sirkman) Matlock Hyson, and Sister-and Brother-in-Law Jocelyn (Sirkman) and Richard Adelaar. She was preceded in death by her parents, and also by her dear Twin Brother James in 2019. Precious grandchildren are Andrew Edstrom (Mallory St. George), Maggie Sirkman (Travis Phillips), Lizzie Sirkman, Scott Sirkman, and numerous dear nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews, and cousins.
An Open House Memorial Celebration of Life will be held at Joyce’s last home, Bloomingdale Horizon, on Saturday, February 1st, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Memorial Donations may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 120 E 1st St. Hinsdale, IL 60521.
