Judith Ann Van Horn (Nee Hadley), who always preferred to be called Judy, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Pavillion Nursing Home of Waukegan after a long battle with End Stage Respiratory Disease. Judy was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on February 1, 1941, she was 78 years old. Judy was the first born to parents Leslie Earl and Joyce Meredith (Olson) both of Duluth Minnesota who preceded her in death. Judy is survived by her sister Kay Lynn Helm (Hadley) and brother in law Randy Edward Helm both of Ocala, Florida, and sister Linda Sue Hadley of Bloomington, Illinois, She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and three estranged children, Laurie, Kimberly, and James whose whereabouts are unknown. Judy graduated from Proviso East High School Class of 1959 where she was a National Honors student, member of the National Honors Society, and a Thespian. She also sat on the board for Seventeen Magazine and was a model for the Bramson’s Department Store in Oak Park, Illinois. Judy attended Monmouth College where she studied to be a teacher and was a member of the Pi Phi Sorority. Judy’s life was not an easy one but she loved the Lord and trusted in Him to be by her side. Sh eloved visiting with her famiy and friends. She enjoyed going out for a good filet mignon and a glass of wine. Her laugh and humour were irresistible; Judy was dearly loved by all who knew her; we will miss her.
