My most sincere condolences to Diane, Lou and other family and dear friends of Mark. I worked with him in the Commissioner's Office of the Department of Streets and Sanitation and the Department of Environment in the early 1990s under Mayor Daley's first term of office. He had the best sense of humor and was a great team player, always supporting his co-workers and sharing his vast knowledge about our great city! In our last Facebook message, we talked about having lunch and catching up. The world was a better place because he lived. Truly missed! My prayers for comfort and peace in the days ahead. Remember his goodness and great love for his family and friends.

I am so sorry Mark is gone. I have known him since we were neighbors in Galewood, and I knew his parents. They were a great family, and Mark was a very special guy. I think everyone who knew Mark thought the world of him. He was kind and supportive of everyone and really enjoyed himself. I know everyone will miss him. Mark was larger than life and is gone way too soon. I am so sorry for your loss.

My most sincere condolences to Diane and Louis and the Farina family. I met Mark a few times since Nick and Jennifer's marriage ten years ago and always enjoyed his company and our conversations. I regret that circumstances don't permit my attendance at services, but assure you that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.

Mark was always kind and supportive during my one year as boys' basketball coach at Taft. He called our games with such enthusiasm and professionalism that you would have thought he had a child playing in the game. I believe he was a big reason why we loved playing at The Eagles Nest, as he so fondly called our gym. My sincerest condolences to your family.

Taken at triton college. Mark and I both had a great love for High School sports. Mark behind the microphone and me behind the camera. That’s how I met Mark and in person here at Triton. Im totally shocked at hearing about his loss. My heart goes out to his family at this time.
