Mark A. Jamrozik

Visitation Time: A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held at a later date.
Interment: Private

Mark A. Jamrozik, 64, of Glendale Heights IL, passed away on Tuesday January 25, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. Mark valiantly fought many complications but moved on peacefully at Alexian Brothers hospital. He was born November 5, 1957 in Chicago, IL.
Survivors include his partner of 36 years Mary Mitchell, mother Joyce Jamrozik, siblings, Matthew (Karen) Jamrozik, ToniLynn (Steve) Howell, Lou Capra, John (Laura) Jamrozik and Michelle McCarthy. Nephews and nieces include Mark (Christina), Jessica (Brian), Michael (Ashley), Anthony, Don Jr. (Jen), Mitchel (Lauren), Delany & Andrew. Great uncle to Gabriel, Tyler, Lincoln, Luke, Lily, Georgie, Don (Link) Copeland & Lallier. He was preceded in death by his father Andrew Jamrozik and sister Andrea (Don) Vlcek.

Mark graduated from Fenwick High School in 1975 and Augustana College in 1979 where many friendships began and continue to this day.
After graduation he had several careers including building maintenance (where using duct tape was frowned upon, so that was reserved for home repairs), marketing & advertising (great writing to make refrigeration equipment exciting), working with family (not for the faint-hearted!) and most recently inventory control at UPS for the last 16 years.
Mark was a Bears & White Sox fan and saw the teams’ highs & frequent lows. He would also root for the Cubs but kept it quiet since in Chicago you can’t truly be for both. A true sports fan, he would watch replays from 20-30 years ago or any obscure sport that caught his eye. The Natural and Eight Men Out movies fall into the ‘too many viewings to count’ category.
Music soothed his soul – Rock, Motown, Johnny Cash, you name it. If the Foo Fighters drummer spot wasn’t already taken, and if he actually knew how to play drums, this would be his dream job.
He loved his family, friends, Doris Day & Susan Sarandon, not necessarily in that order. Mark was good at trivia and made a couple of Jeopardy attempts. He could recite almost every Law & Order episode or Scorsese film, and Elmore Leonard was one of his favorite authors. Mark loved all types of documentaries & the Food Network channel was a constant.
Mark was a writer at heart. He kept journals of life observances, insightful stories, random thoughts (love of Paper Mate pens!) and eloquent quotes.
‘‘Know where you are going and how’ll you’ll get there.” “Live in this lifetime as if it were an eternity, live in this lifetime if it were to end tomorrow. Always be humble”. “I gotta remember to smile and mean it, attitude is everything. Planning also helps”.
Insightful words considered by a thoughtful man.

Mark’s smile and laughter could brighten anyone’s day. Never was there a truer comment, “I can hear Mark laugh when I think about him. Now that kind laughter is being heard in a better place.”
In remembering Mark, the recurring sentiment is what a truly kind person he was. If you can go through life treating others well, listen with no judgment, realize the small stuff is just that and always offer a kind word, you’ve lived a pretty good life. Mark touched people in ways he didn’t even realize.
He will be missed.
A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held at a later date.
