Loving son of the late Robert R. and Ellen Smith; Cherished brother of Kathleen Werner, Patricia (Gary) Keen, Sharon (Andy) Anderson and the late Claire (late George) Harrington; Dear uncle of George (Stephanie) Harrington, Dan Harrington, Cate (Don) Barker, Patrick (Megan) Harrington, Bethany Harrington, Matthew Harrington, Kristin Kapinos, Kevin (Margaret) Werner, Todd (Amy) Werner, Kelly Keen and Brian (Nancy) Keen; Fond great uncle of 20 nieces and nephews; Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea during the Vietnam War. Robert was a graduate of the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and of Mt. Carmel High School (Class of 61) in Chicago.
