Beloved wife of the late Vincent Sr.; Devoted mother of Vincent Jr. (Cheryl), Angelo (Jill), Michael (Cheryl), Patrick (Teena), and Robert (Christine) Alesia; Dear sister of the late Joan Lucchesi; Adored grandma of Michele, Nicole (Shane), Samantha (Luis), Jack, Natalie, Nick (Emily), Rachael, Jake, Lauren, Brandon and the late Matthew; Cherished great grandma of Mia, Riley and Luca.
Rosemary was born on January 21, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, as the daughter of Ben and Ann (DeGuido) Lovely, and was the younger sister of the beloved Joan (Lucchesi). Rosemary attended grade school at Holy Family and high school at St. Mary’s, both in Chicago. During that timeframe, she met the “club girls” who remained her dearest friends for the rest of her life. Rosemary met Vince, the absolute love of her life, and after a short courtship were married in 1957. Their loving relationship lasted for 49 years until Vince became ill and passed far too early from a sudden illness in 2007. Together, Rosemary and Vince proudly raised 5 boys (Vince, Jr., Angelo, Michael, Patrick and Robert) in Cicero, Addison and Elmwood Park. Nothing made Rosemary happier than spending time with her family, whether it was at the racetrack, at one of the kids’ sporting events or just hanging around the house. Every Sunday, Rosemary made her gravy, meatballs, braciole and pasta for the Alesia crew and anyone else that happened to be visiting. Rosemary took great pride in cooking and especially in her meatballs which are famous from Taylor Street to Florida. Rosemary’s true purpose on earth was to care for others and the addition of 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren only made Rosemary’s life that much sweeter. Rosemary was a warm and welcoming soul, selfless and generous, and she touched so so many in her 85 years. Rosemary will be truly missed by all those she has left behind while she’s re-united with her departed grandson, sister, club girls, beloved Vince and so many others.
