Gone too soon, will be remembered forever.
Isagani Quiambao Almonte, born August 30, 1966 left his physical body to meet his Creator on February 21, 2023. Gani gave his heart to Alma Perez Almonte, his devoted wife and best friend of 27 years. Gani was a thoughtful and loving son to Jesus (deceased) and Isidora Quiambao Almonte. He was loving, generous and dependable to his siblings Julian III, Jaime, Rosalie and Liberty. He loved and was friends with Auntie Cheng and also with Glory, Julz’ wife and John, Liberty’s husband. He was fun and generous uncle to Matthew, Timmy and Joshua. He was also uncle and a friend of Ryan and Roselle and a loving Great Uncle to Cassiana and Alina.

Gani left behind Alma’s family who he loved and embraced as his own. He is known to them as Lolo G. He was especially close to his nieces Diane, PY, Joy and nephew Kiko. He loved Nishka, Ikya, and Ysa, and treated them as his own grandchildren. He had soft spot in his heart for Keo, Choi, Chon and Kiel, his other apos. Gani loved music and learned how to play the guitar on his own. He loved the Beatles especially. He loved his friends and they became family – Adonis, Angel, Ariel, Bernie, Emer and Ronald. Alma’s best-friends became his own: Madelyn, Luz, and Pising. Gani is a board-certified Civil Engineer from the Philippines. He worked since 2005 at Sargent and Lundy as a Project Designer in the Mechanical Group. His direct supervisor described him as invaluable team mates who cared for his colleagues and mentored countless designers. He will be remembered at work for going above and beyond for employees and clients and for his wealth of knowledge and his kindness. Gani will be mostly remembered not just as a great Engineer, or as an awesome friend and a loving husband and a son. But he will be remembered by all because of how he made them feel.

Am I sadden with the news of Gani’s passing and extend my sincere condolences to the Almonte Family. I knew Gani as a dedicated professional who could always be relied upon on doing his very best. Knowing Gana one would appreciate his many talents but was lesser; to his everyday amiable quality. Truly a nice guy that I am glad I have known.

Kuya gani, pareng gani that is how we call him here in Mabini A community in the philippines. He was love by all especially my family that is why he became my kumpare. He is a generous person, kindhearted, a good husband and son to his family. He is so humble you wont hear anything although he is a succesful civil engineer. All he want is make everyone happy. He became my kuya during our childhood years. And now you join our creator, we are so sad we cannot do anything but to pray for your beautiful soul resting now in the bossom of our Lord. Isagani and I did not know each other well until we worked on the same project and went on several site walkdowns in the Summer of 2021, since we worked in different disciplines: I worked in the electrical engineering group and he worked in the mechanical design group. On those business trips, we had long hours driving around and time to talk. He told me stories of his childhood in his home country and his love of music. He proudly showed me pictures of his lovely family and his gun collection. He was so gentle, kind, and professional. He knew so much about power plant piping, I was so glad to have him as a team member. He was such a caring person, giving me his spare KN95 mask when I complained about mine too tight. I will remember him as a person of quiet dignity, strength and warmth, and so much love of his family and life in general. I will miss him. My deepest condolences to Isagani's family!

I worked with Gani on several projects at S&L. He was one of the best people I had ever worked with. Such a true professional and always gave his all. But more importantly than that he was an excellent human being. He truly was a man that had very high standards for not only his work but for his life. I know he was the very same for his family. I could always trust his work to be accurate and this gave me such a sense of relief. I did not have to worry about that part of the project. Why...because Gani handled it. I am so very sorry for your loss. He was a truly excellent human being and the world is a lesser place with his loss.
